What is the Back Snack Program?
The Back Snack Program is an opportunity to come alongside families in our own community who are in need. Pathway Community Church and Scarborough Elementary are partnering to provide nutritious food for these students when school is out on the weekends or during extended breaks. Every Friday, children are sent home with a sack of food to provide for them while school meals are unavailable. The primary goal is to eliminate hunger, but studies of similar programs have shown that participating students have higher test scores, increased learning capacity and decreased behavior problems.
On the second Sunday of each month, we fill back snacks for about 10 families through this program. This is an example of how we worship God through service.
Donations on an occasional basis are welcome.
